It was my birthday & we ended up with a plan for Beas Kund Trek. Name Beas is kept for Maharishi Ved Beas, author of Indian Epic Mahabharata. It is believed that he used to bath at this place & its the place where he had spent most of his time.  Apart, name of river Beas is also kept on his name, which is very much relative to the place as well.

Basically, Beas Kund is the origin point of river Beas. Place is surrounded by mountains holding a vast plain with a scenic views of waterfalls at every sight. That’s what I actually got to know on my initial research over Internet.

Well, finally it was 17th September & we left for Manali at late night 9 PM from Chandigarh. Driving via Bilaspur, Mandi, Kullu, it took us 12 hours to reach Manali, covering 300+ kms. Though, it was exhausting but Manali relieved us out of it. This was my first time to Manali & I could see how different is it from rest of Himachal (I have no idea about Kinnaur or Leh, excluding it). River Beas flowing right beside the road, blue sky, mountains bossing up, was much refreshing.

On the way, we had breakfast in a hotel, and the same guy was sort of trying to convince us not to go for Beas Kund as its not a safe place because of glaciers, landslides etc. He was more interested in pushing us for a shooting place where Salman Khan was doing his job. I am not a big fan of any of Bollywood Actors except Akshay Kumar. Being none of my business I tried to avoid him and his nonstop chatter mouth. His objective was to convince us to stay at his place since the shooting spot was nearby, sadly, couldn’t make it.

Solang Valley

After reaching Manali followed by Solang Valley, people are supposed to take permit to get their vehicles in Dhundi, from where one can start the trek. BUT, it was Sunday (Non-Working), & we had to ask for a lift from a vehicle getting into a construction site at Dhundi.

Although, little comfortable ride, we made it to Dhundi after a long drive of 12-14 hours from Chandigarh.

Finally, you can do all this stuff at Beas Kund:

Then you get a big relief after reaching this point & say "Oh My, Look at this beuty!". Oh, and you fill up your empty bottles & wish you could take 4-5 gallons of that purity back to your home!

Out of Hunger! You reach this point & ask someone if there is any food available. They refuse, then you make some sad face & site beside some rock. They get some pity & offer you what you like to eat. (That was my case :D )

When you loose your way & spot a human around, you feel like getting your life back. But when you are in plan of getting rid of all these people for some time and look for a lone place to spend couple of day but then you find these many here, wont you ask yourself to sit somewhere and wait for them to leave? Of you will to process socialization here as well? Ah Mankind?
