Whenever someone from South India plan their trip to North India, they are most excited about the Shimla and The Mall Road. However there is much more to see around Mall Road itself like the famous Jakhu Temple, The Church, Advance Study, Kufari but we have list of things which comes on the way to Shimla and people always miss them. If you manage to adjust couple of days to be in Himachal, I bet you will get lot to see. Journey to Shimla always starts from Chandigarh. Try to make it through Car or any other personal vehicle instead of Bus.

Major spots you get in between are:

  1. Parwaano (Timber Trail)
  2. Kasauli (Manki Point, India Airforce Station, Backpack Rides)
  3. Badog (Heritage Railway Stations, Resorts)
  4. Solan (Monastery, Mohan Heritage Park)
  5. Kandaghat (Sadhupull)
  6. Shogi (Tara Devi)

Once you kickstart you journey from chandigarh, you will definitely be much pleased with the Shimla Kalka highway. You are likely to encounter 2 toll plaza’s with a distance of 4-5 KM with each other. Once you cross the second toll, just 1-2 kms from there, you will find yourself in Parwaano and the famous Timber Trail.

It will cost you around Rs. 500 per person to have ride in Timber Trail.  Ride will take you from Parwaano to opposite hill at higher level than that of Parwaano.
